| A solidification particulate that is listed on the EPA's National Contingency Plan (NCP) Schedule, Oil Bond is applied directly to the oil either on water or hard surfaces. As the oil is absorbed into the Oil Bond it rapidly turns into a solid cohesive material and is removable from the water. Oil Bond is available in 10-pound pails and 40-pound bags. |
| A cup full of water with oil floating on the surface has Oil Bond applied to the oil. |
| Oil Bond® is applied to the oil and immediately absorbs the oil turning to a darker color. After minutes the cup can be turned upside down and contain the solidified oil and water from discharging. |
| The oil is ready to be removed from the oil surface. The solidified oil is removed in one piece leaving just water. |
| In a utility vault Oil Bond® is used to absorb transformer oil off the surface of water. The solidified oil was removedfrom the water surface the next day in one solid sheet. If less time is allowed the oil will also sheet within one hour, if removal is required quicker the oil will be removed in smaller pieces. There will potentially still be an oil sheen but that can also be polished with other SPI technology. |
