SPI Liner System And Petro-Pipe® For Oil Spill Containment
An SPI liner and Petro-Pipe system is laid out during installation with Petro-Pipe housing installed through the liner.
Petro-Pipe housing pipes with 4” female connectors are attached to the drainage pipe and mounted directly in the liner, forming a water-tight, oil-tight seal.
A filter cage is attached to the liner to collect dirt and debris. The solid top lifts up to remove filter material and the whole basket rotates up from the liner base to allow removal and replacement of the Petro-Pipe insert.
The liner is backfilled with crushed stone and the drainage pipe is connected to the Petro-Pipe housing.
Another installation of the SPI liner Petro-Pipe and filter cage: The liner is backfilled with crushed stone which acts as a dirt filter. A drainage line attached to the back of the Petro-Pipe runs to a stormwater drain.
The transformer substation and Petro-Pipes are checked two years after installation.
The filter cage lid is raised and the filter floss is removed, allowing the Petro-Pipe to be checked; drainage is excellent, with the Petro-Pipe is working as designed.
