SPI WaterBond™: A Solidifier That Can Be Used In
Thousands of Large and Small Applications


SPI WaterBond is an aqueous solidifier used on water-based sledges, turning them into solids with minimal volume expansion and minimal additional weight. SPI WaterBond is used on a percentage-by-weight basis — usually 1-2% of the waste material weight.  SPI WaterBond is available in 25 pound pails, 50 pound bags and super sacks.

In this waste solidification project, 220,000 pounds of SPI WaterBond (in super sacks weighing 1,800 pounds each) are lowered into the sludge by crane.

SPI WaterBond is mixed using a clamshell from a crane 60 feet above.

Sludge begins to solidify minutes after SPI WaterBond is mixed in.

 Now a solid, the sludge is moved to roll-off containers for transportation to final disposal at a secure landfill.
