During an oil spill, the barrier or filter forms a plug to capture the oil, preventing it from entering the environment. Water enters through the top of a gravity fed SPI Petro-Barrier and filters down through three separate layers of filtering media. This media removes the oil particles and sheens to undetectable levels. No other product on the market offers this type of superior containment performance without using oil separators, sensors, valves or pumps.
