The innovative engineers at SPI have developed several robust solutions for hydrocarbon entrapment and secondary oil containment.
We’ve crafted Petro-Plugs® as a disposable oil barrier that slips into standard indoor floor drain pipes. These permit low-volume water flow of up to 3 gallons per minute. Our advanced technology empowers them to seal completely if they detect hydrocarbon presence.
The twist-and-lock design allows easy installation and fast replacement, making it ideal for garages, storage spaces and boiler rooms. You can also deploy these outdoors in compact containment areas under 200 square feet and couple them with top-hat filters for debris removal.
Petro-Pipes® are our answer to rainwater discharge when facing challenges like poor drainage and high water tables. When vertical draining isn’t possible, these quickly slide into pre-cast outer sleeves sloped at angles between 22 and 25 degrees. The slope generates head pressure to promote effective, high-volume water flow of up to 4 gallons per minute.
Our solution features dual-layer, built-in filtering media that removes sheen for additional value and efficiency. Solidification Products International, Inc. can customize these solutions for various applications and compatibility with different discharge systems.
SPI created Petro-Barriers™ for applications needing the highest discharge volume. These units are ideal for vertical installation in larger containment areas with sump pumps and can achieve a water flow of up to 30 gallons per minute. Each Petro-Barrier provides around-the-clock passive rainwater filtering and discharge with three layers of filtering media. If the system detects hydrocarbons, it completely seals off for 100% oil containment.
